How To Simplify Homeschool Subjects

One of the most wonderful things about homeschool is my freedom.

Freedom to choose how to teach a subject.

Freedom to choose when to teach a subject.

Freedom to choose not to teach a subject.

Lately, the most wonderful freedom I've been experiencing is how I've been rotating subjects.

This year I decided to take a new approach to our homeschool plan.

Instead of covering 5-6 subjects all year, we're focusing on one additional learning area per term...

game changer.

Instead of feeling like every week is a never ending cycle, there's an end goal in mind that's not too far away.

Our nature book took 4 weeks to finish.

Our artist study took 2.

Our composer study took 4.

And soon we'll be delving into the wonderful world of Science with Berean Builders.

It's so easy to forget this freedom we have, and sometimes we need to recheck ourselves to make sure we're not sneaking back into those 'classroom' ways. Often when we're experiencing overwhelm or stress in our days, it can be because of this.

So this is your permission to refresh, take a break today if needed and revise your current rhythm.

Is what you're doing working? If not, why?

What do you dread teaching?

Did you know you don't have to finish it -

you can actually pivot right now?

If you’re craving this kind of simplicity in your days, my Homeschool Reset will help you clear the overwhelm and refocus on what actually matters.
